Chamomile Soap

Chamomile is a staple in all of my personal tea blends. Over the past year, I've worked to calm my nervous system from the loss of my sweet daddy, and in doing so I have invited several herbal allies to work as adaptogenic and nervine agents to guide my body back into a new normal. Chamomile is known as an adaptogen and over time, can work to calm your body and spirit with its litany of benefits. It's also gentle enough to be used to soothe babies at bedtime, and is known to be gentle on the most delicate skin. My herbal garden was bursting with my first crop of chamomile and so I did what any herbalist soap-maker would do. I got to work! I took some of my dried chamomile on hand and infused my oils and waters, dried my beautiful garden flowers for toppers, and ground up some chamomile to put in the soap batter for both texture and aesthetic. I also added chamomile and light lavender essential oils. But let's be honest, chamomile is the star of this show. Of all my soaps, my friends have commented on this one with the most enthusiasm for its delicate yet potent aroma, beautiful appearance and the subtle invitation to take a calming candlelit bath for a restful night's sleep.

All ingredients are organic and locally sourced when possible. Used herbs are offered back to Gaia as an offering of gratitude.

Ingredients: olive oil, shea butter, coconut oil, caster oil, sodium hydroxide (lye) distilled water, chamomile, yellow Brazilian clay, chamomile EO, lavender EO.
