Elderberry Syrup 8 oz bottle
I consider elderberry syrup one of the gateway plants into herbalism. In fact, I think it was one of the first things I made because I planted an elderberry tree one year on a whim and then I had to research what to do with it. Around the same time I was on a gridwork trip to Mt. Shasta and hiked Black Butte by myself and found a lone elderberry tree with HUGE elderberries on it. I collected some, leaving a gift for the tree. It's almost like these berries were seeking me out!
Elderberries are a giant source of Vitamins C, A, B6, and also rich in antioxidants. I use this syrup as a preventative strategy during bug season or if I feel something coming on, I take it every 3 hours for a couple of days alongside echinacea to cut my sick time by more than half (if it doesn't just disappear altogether). Elderberry and elderflowers are really quite magical- and delicious. I make this with local honey and the alcohol makes it shelf stable. This is a spoonful of elderberry that Mary Poppins would sing about.
Ingredients: Alcohol, elderberries, elderflower, honey, lemon juice.
