Coagula Salve 2 oz. Jar

Coagula is a stage of alchemy in which things that have lost their shape begin to come back together and take form again. I can't think of a more appropriate name for a healing salve. Like many of my creations, this concoction was made out of necessity.

On Winter Solstice last year, I was making a feast for my daughter and I. To save space in my oven, I was cooking our "roasted beast" in my Instant Pot so I could bake a Yule log. The truth is I knew better, but was multi-tasking and haphazardly reached over the pot to grab a glass from the cupboard and my hip knocked it. This resulted in the valve spewing lava steam onto my arm. Luckily, I was wearing a sweater, but unfortunately still sustained a second degree burn the size of a clementine on my underarm. Oh my goodness. This hurt like nothing else. It blistered and fuzed to the gauze I used. It was a disaster. So I immediately started researching what herbs would benefit me and infused them into organic caster and jojoba oils to make a salve. I kid you not, this salve healed my horrific burn within a week.

It's now been nearly a year and my skin holds little evidence that it even happened. Wow. The herbs within this salve are antibacterial and antimicrobial. Also, extremely nourishing to any wound. It won't give you stitches if you need them, but honestly- I would use it for anything else. I keep this salve with my first aid kit for when anything needs a little more TLC. I've also used it for irritated rashes, bug bites and a quick disinfectant for things like slivers or scrapes. I also apply it to extra dry patches of skin too, as the beeswax locks in moisture. I probably can't say it's a "cure all" but it's pretty close!

Ingredients: Caster oil, jojoba oil, calendula, comfrey, plantain, st. John’s wort, chamomile, lavender, beeswax, vitamin E oil, lavender EO.
